THE "ZAP" AMENDMENTS

In February 1976 the Kornyfone company released a series of 9 LP, featuring compilations of previously released tracks, or directly copying other bootlegs. The records appeared under the label "ZAP", an acronym for Ze Anonym Plattenspieler, as Nine Amendments. Many of these were also remastered for inclusion in the other series by the same producer, the 7-LP THE VERY BEST OF THE BEATLES' RAREST. Each LP was distributed with an insert printed in various color, featuring a photo with the track listing, more or less precise, and the disc had various labels. We do not know which was the label that was used for the first pressing, and also the producer (one of the two founders of TMOQ) does not remember the exact sequence of the labels used at the time. All these disc labels were available at the Rainbow pressing plant and may have been used randomly, even though we guess that the white / yellow ZAP labels with side indication were realized before the World and Worlds labels. For sure the records on Spindizzie label were pressed in 1977. We list the combinations of color of the insert and labels that we have seen, but obviously more can exist. Instead of discussing each title under its individual entry, we analyze them all in sequence in this page.

INTEREST. Even though these records had several repressings and were quite widespread, already when released they were scarcely interesting, and probably most of the buyers were disappointed when they heard the content. Nowadays they are only useful for high-grade collectors. *
