COMMENTS
Another excellent release from Core Ltd., this time featuring a compilation of Twickenham sessions. Many oldies appear on this record, along with alternate takes and more Dylan cover versions. Also of interest are early performances of several songs which would reappear during the solo years, George's Hear Me Lord and Paul's Another Day. There are also interesting bits of dialogue, some of which were reproduced in the “Get Back’’ book.
RELEASES
CODENAME RUSSIA came with a laminated color cover with a similar design to THE REAL CASE HAS JUST BEGUN, with red generic labels, also similar to those used for the previous release of the company. As usual for these Dutch producers, a first pressing of 2000 copies was made, then 1000 more copies may have been pressed, in case that the first run was sold out.
Repressed in the U.S. by Rockwell & Good, RG 6010, with a different cover, featuring 4 different Richard Avedon posters. This material was also released (in part) on CD in September 1988, from master tapes as SONGS FROM THE PAST.

INTEREST. Another well-done selection of previously unreleased material. Essential when it was released, and still a nice record to play nowadays. ***
