COMMENTS

The first Core Ltd. Records release and a new LP of previously unavailable "Get Back" session outtakes. The producers had gotten a copy of the reel-to-reel tapes of the January 1969 sessions, and randomly selected some material that they thought could be interesting. This LP includes many bits of dialogue, oldies and jams, plus funny versions of originals: Two Of Us sung with three different accents and Get Back in (more or less...) German and French. Also of interest are Suicide (Paul’s unreleased song), Oh! Darling and Let It Down (later found on George’s monumental ALL THINGS MUST PASS).

The title of this LP is taken from the erroneous title the bootleggers gave to a cover of Chuck Berry’s song Vacation Time, where they misheard the line "the vacation's just begun” as "the real case has just begun”. Tracks 3, 20, 25 are not listed.

RELEASES

All the copies pressed from the original masters came with a laminated cover, untitled on the front, and with the titles printed on the back, on black vinyl and with a black generic label. The producer told us that "I presume we started with 2.000 copies as usual, because a second run could be made easily, resulting in a maximum amount of 3.000 copies. I’m not sure if it ever made 3.000 in total.".

The LP was later copied in the USA and included in the box GOLDEN SLUMBERS. It was reproduced in 1989 on the CD SONGS FROM THE PAST VOL. 1, in slightly improved sound quality.

INTEREST. Back in 1986 this LP, with its content of all previously unheard material, was extremely important for all Beatles fans. Still nowadays it is a nice record to listen to. ***
