COMMENTS

This LP was a reissue (in lesser quality) of the Swedish concert, previously appeared in other bootlegs, the best version being on SILVER DAYS (AIR TIME), with a much better copy of the “Blackpool’’ TV show originally appeared in fair mono on STOCKHOLM. The masters were made at the Greg Lee Processing.

RELEASES

The first pressing (photo below the title) was distributed in a clear plastic sleeve, without a jacket, with a printed sheet with the track list. The disc had an oversize label with full color images of the Beatles and the title, STOCKHOLM 1963 on side A and BLACKPOOL 1965 on side B. Most copies were pressed on colored vinyl, usually green, but some were pressed on blue or black vinyl.

The test pressing was made on July 17, 1984, followed by 1000 copies pressed on August 8, 1984.

More copies were pressed in 1985. These had a jacket, with a photo, the rubber-stamped title STOCKHOLM & BLACKPOOL the indication Savage Records and the track listing pasted on the back. Those from the March 25th pressing retained the original oversize label and were on colored vinyl, whereas the others had green "Annuit Coeptis"  labels, or white plain labels, and were usually on black vinyl. These are the pressing quantities for 1985: March 25, 151 copies; September 25, 151 copies; December 16, 200 copies.

More copies were distributed in 1986. The 151 copies pressed on January 7 were again on the Savage Records jacket, probably with the "Annuit Coeptis" label. The other copies were distributed as BoxTop Records, with the jacket with the photo on the cover, the rubber-stamped title STOCKHOLM & BLACKPOOL and a sticker with the track listing pasted on the back, the disc had the colored TMOQ label. 500 copies, pressed on March 5 and 19 (250 copies each) were used for the 15 LP box set THE TMOQ COLLECTION. Further copies pressed in 1986: April 28, 200; June 5, 400; August 21, 200. September 25, 200. Most of these copies had the TMOQ labels, but some on blank labels may have been produced as well. The discs were usually pressed on clear, transparent vinyl, often greenish or light cream.

The last pressing was made on November 22, 1991, 150 copies, used for the 5-LP set LIVE ON STAGE 1962-1966. The disc was on black wax and had a black label with 2a/2b indication (see it pasted onto the stamper's sleeve).

INTEREST. The quality and originality of the layout of the first pressing attracted collectors. Moreover, the content was interesting, especially the improved quality of the Blackpool show. ***/**.
